Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), is expected to arraign former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday over allegations of fraud and money laundering linked to his time in office.
The charges, which stem from ongoing investigations into financial dealings under his administration, mark a significant escalation in the commission’s anti-graft crackdown targeting high-profile political figures.
Authorities say the case centres on suspected mismanagement and illicit movement of public funds, though El-Rufai has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
The arraignment is likely to draw national attention as Nigeria intensifies efforts to combat corruption within its political elite.
