‘I Nearly Lost My Job’: Gbajabiamila Recounts Tinubu Meeting Over Lagos Assembly Crisis

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has recounted how he allegedly faced the risk of losing his position during the political turmoil surrounding the impeachment crisis involving former Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

Speaking on the controversy that rocked the Lagos Assembly, Gbajabiamila said the development escalated to the point where President Tinubu summoned him to his residence in Abuja over concerns linked to the unfolding events.

According to his account, the President questioned him over the involvement of lawmaker Desmond Elliot in the crisis, citing reports that Elliot was among those allegedly contributing to tensions within the Assembly.

“I almost lost my job as Chief of Staff last year because of Desmond Elliot,” Gbajabiamila was quoted as saying, recalling the encounter.

The remarks add another dimension to the political drama that surrounded the Lagos Assembly crisis, highlighting the tensions and behind-the-scenes conversations that reportedly unfolded at the highest levels of government.
