Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has declared his willingness to lead a direct offensive against terrorists and bandits terrorising rural communities in South-West Nigeria—provided he receives formal approval from the Federal Government.

Speaking in Ibadan on Friday, Igboho asserted that he and his supporters are ready to enter the forests of Yorubaland to confront criminal elements, including rogue herders, who have disrupted peace in the region.

“I need the support of the Federal Government to strengthen security in the South-West. I’m ready to enter the forests in Yorubaland with my boys to flush out terrorists who have been attacking our people in rural communities,” he said.

However, Igboho stressed that without official backing, his hands remain tied. “We can’t act if the Federal Government does not give us approval or support. With my freedom and pardon, I am ready to collaborate with the authorities to rid our forests of criminal elements and restore peace to our communities,” he added.

Igboho’s announcement comes amid growing concerns over escalating insecurity in South-West Nigeria, where rural communities have increasingly fallen victim to bandit attacks, kidnappings, and clashes with armed herders.
