Dangote Refinery has increased the ex-depot price of petrol by ₦75, pushing the cost from ₦1,200 to ₦1,275 per litre in a move that reflects mounting pressure in global oil markets.
The refinery also adjusted its coastal price to ₦1,215 per litre, signalling a broader upward shift in domestic fuel pricing.
The price hike comes as Brent crude trades at $114.80 per barrel, underscoring the impact of rising international crude prices on Nigeria’s downstream sector.
The latest adjustment represents a 3.15 percent increase, adding to concerns over the cost of living in Africa’s largest economy, where fuel prices play a central role in transportation and commodity costs.
Analysts say the move highlights the growing link between global oil price fluctuations and domestic fuel pricing, particularly as Nigeria continues to navigate a deregulated petroleum market.
