Daniel Bwala has declared Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the recognised leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, firmly dismissing claims that former governor Nyesom Wike holds any leadership authority within the party.

Bwala, a prominent political commentator and APC chieftain, said the party’s structure and leadership in Rivers are clear and unambiguous, stressing that Governor Fubara is the acknowledged figurehead of the APC in the state.

According to him, Wike, who previously governed Rivers State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is not a member of the APC and therefore cannot be regarded as its leader or power broker in the state’s political affairs.

“Leadership of a political party is determined by membership and recognised structures,” Bwala stated. “Governor Fubara is the APC leader in Rivers State. Nyesom Wike is not a member of the APC, and that fact alone settles the matter.”

Bwala’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments and intense debate over party influence in Rivers State, where power struggles and cross-party tensions have continued to shape the political landscape.

He urged party members and the public to rely on facts rather than speculation, adding that the APC remains focused on strengthening its presence in Rivers under a clear and legitimate leadership.

The statement is expected to further fuel political conversations in the state, particularly as parties position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
