Despite the announcement of price reductions, filling stations in the South-East and North of Nigeria are still selling fuel above N1000 per liter, despite the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited’s price reduction.

The NNPC had lowered the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N1020 to N899 per litre. However, many filling stations in the South-East and North have not adjusted their prices accordingly.

According to a survey conducted by SaharaReporters, fuel is being sold between N1020 to N1060 in Kwara, N1000 in Minna, and between N1050 and N1100 in other parts of Niger State. In Kano State, NNPC stations are selling at N990 while other stations are selling between N1030 to N1080.

In Abuja, fuel prices range from N1050 to N965 at NNPC stations. The situation is similar in the Southeast region, with fuel prices over N1000 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, and pegged at N1020 in most stations in Anambra.

Efforts to get a comment from NNPC spokesperson, Femi Shoneye, were unsuccessful as he ignored repeated calls from SaharaReporters on Monday.
