Relation of past aides to former governor Yahaya Bello has raised an alarm over alleged threats against former chief of staff Pharm. Jamiu Asuku, former Director‑General of Lands Abdulmaleek Teina, and former Deputy Governor of Kogi State Chief Edward Onoja all former aides to Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello. They claims the former governor, whose administration was characterized by the mysterious disappearance of youths and women across Kogi State—especially Kogi Central, where he hails from wants them “eliminated,” as he has allegedly done to many others that remain unaccounted for.

According to the report, the “crime” of these former aides is simply their refusal to rejoin his team after he publicly embarrassed them and labeled them “betrayals” and “fifth‑columnists” in his administration.

The public outcry follows the mysterious disappearance of his former domestic aide, Hon. Kabiru Ohene. Hon. Kabiru, who was the closest person to Yahaya Bello long before he became governor, was kidnapped last December in the supposedly secure Okene Local Government Area shortly after his release from EFCC custody, where he allegedly gave confessional statements about Bello’s corruption allegations. To our surprise, the Kogi State government has done nothing about his disappearance, and no investigation or arrests have been reported. His family and loved ones say they have been abandoned by Bello and his team.

In a press statement signed by Comrade Gbenga Dada Olorunfemi, warned that any harm befalling the aforementioned aides should be blamed squarely on Yahaya Bello.

According to them, many of Bello’s aides have been living in hiding after a series of threats allegedly traced to Bello’s camp. The group drew parallels to the fate of Bello’s former domestic aide, Kabiru Ohene, whose disappearance remains unsolved.

Justice must prevail. We demand protection for them and a full‑scale investigation into these threats,” the group stated. “We call on all security agencies, the good people of Kogi State, and the nation at large to be aware that whatever happens to these individuals, former Governor Yahaya Bello should be held responsible,” he added.

Olorunfemi alleged that a serving member of house of representatives is fingered has one of his hitman who is ever ready to eliminate anyone at will.
