The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Youth Groups has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Uba Sani, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for their roles in the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan.
Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna Friday, the Coalition’s coordinator, Luke Augustine Duniya, described the approval of the two institutions as a “significant milestone” for the people of Southern Kaduna, pledging that youths in the region would mobilize support for Tinubu, Sani, and Katung in the 2027 elections.
“To whom much is given, much is expected, and with the establishment of these two institutions – the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, we will mobilise for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung ahead of the 2027 polls,” he said.
The Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, is expected to take off in September 2025, following its inclusion in the national budget as directed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa.
Vice President Shettima had earlier disclosed that discussions were ongoing for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan.
Duniya commended Senator Katung for his leadership and dedication to the development of Southern Kaduna, noting that the senator had prioritised education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and agriculture since assuming office.
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Uba Sani, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for their tireless efforts in making this dream a reality,” he said.
The Coalition also praised Vice President Shettima for his commitment to the development of Southern Kaduna, citing his assurance that “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the people of Kaduna and the people of Southern Kaduna at heart.”
