A former aide to the governor of Lagos State is set to enter the state legislature, marking a shift in representation for Surulere Constituency I.
Mrs Barakat Adenuga Bakare, who recently served as Special Adviser on Housing to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will replace Desmond Elliot in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The development signals a notable transition within the assembly, as Bakare moves from the executive arm of government into a legislative role representing Surulere Constituency I.
While details surrounding the change remain limited, the replacement is expected to reshape political dynamics within the constituency and potentially influence legislative priorities in one of Nigeria’s most politically significant states.
