The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a direct warning to Nigerians to ignore a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating on social media.

The commission clarified that it is not currently recruiting and does not operate the fake portal, inecrecruitment.com, referenced in the advert.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, INEC said: “Our attention has been drawn to a fake advertorial currently circulating on social media, giving the impression that INEC is recruiting for various positions.”

The fraudulent notice claims to offer job opportunities with INEC and directs applicants to submit their personal details through the fake portal. INEC stated unequivocally: “INEC does not have any such portal. The commission hereby calls on the public to disregard this fraudulent call for applications. The Commission is not recruiting.”

INEC urged Nigerians to rely on its verified communication channels for authentic recruitment information, emphasizing the importance of using only official INEC websites.
