BREAKING: Tinubu Ends Rivers State Emergency Rule, Governor Fubara to Resume

ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has suspended the state of emergency in Rivers State, a measure that was put in place six months ago.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the President directed Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to immediately resume their official duties.

Governor Fubara, who was suspended during the emergency rule, is scheduled to return to work on Thursday, September 18.
