Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris, describing the encounter as an honour and an opportunity to discuss their mutual aspirations for a better world.
The 32-year-old Grammy-nominated artiste shared photographs from Thursday’s meeting on his X account, capturing moments of what appeared to be a cordial exchange with the French leader.
“It was an honour meeting #EmmanuelMacron and sharing our visions for a better world,” Davido wrote alongside the images.
The singer was joined at the meeting by his manager, Asa Asika, and prominent businessman Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest.
The engagement underscores the deepening cultural and diplomatic relations between Nigeria and France, with Macron maintaining a keen interest in Africa’s burgeoning creative sectors, including music, film, and art.
These industries have increasingly become instrumental in fostering cultural diplomacy between nations.
President Macron had previously hosted Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu at the same venue in September, during which both leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and promote mutual prosperity.
President Tinubu later characterised the discussions as productive.
Davido’s visit to the French presidency further cements his status as one of Africa’s foremost cultural ambassadors, extending his influence beyond the music industry into international diplomacy and global advocacy.
The singer has consistently used his platform to promote African culture whilst building bridges across continents through his music and public engagements.
