The Government of Chad has announced the immediate closure of its border with Nigeria, citing security concerns. This decision follows reports and growing speculation of alleged U.S. military plans in the West African sub-region, linked to concerns over Christian killings and alleged genocide in Nigeria.

Military sources in N’Djamena confirmed that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno ordered a complete military lockdown along the Nigerian border after intelligence suggested that terrorist elements from northern Nigeria were preparing to flee into Chadian territory ahead of any potential foreign intervention. The move is described as a preventive measure to safeguard Chadian sovereignty and prevent infiltration by armed groups.
