President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), granting him a fresh term in office.
The decision, announced on Monday through the Presidency, follows Marwa’s widely acknowledged reforms and the agency’s strengthened campaign against narcotics trafficking and abuse over the past four years.
Under Marwa’s leadership, the NDLEA has recorded major breakthroughs, including high-profile drug seizures, expanded rehabilitation initiatives, and renewed international partnerships aimed at curbing transnational drug crimes.
His reappointment is expected to consolidate the momentum in Nigeria’s anti-drug war, with the Presidency emphasising continuity, professionalism, and a sustained offensive against drug cartels.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
