The Senate on Monday unanimously passed a bill regarding the electronic transmission of election results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
The Senate just passed a bill that Result of Election shall be transmitted electronically to the INEC iRev after it has been filled in the appropriate form signed by INEC Officer incharge and party agents where available.
The bill was passed almost unanimously.
However, Sen. Abaribe called for division, that it should be put into individual voting. All the Senators agreed. Immediately Abaribe discovered that no Senator would vote against the bill, he appeal to the Senate President to save him from ridicule and allow him to vacate his motion, the Senators unanimously disagreed insisting that there must be voting, Abaribe said “am I not the owner of the motion? I said I am not moving again”. Sen. Ningi then prayed the Senators to prevent Abaribe from the looming terrible embarrassment. The Senate President also appealed to the Senators, a sigh of relief noticed in the face of Abaribe as his motion for voting individual was vacated.
