The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Chief Timipre Sylva, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and ex-Governor of Bayelsa State, wanted.

In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the anti-graft agency listed Sylva among individuals being sought in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged corruption and financial misconduct.

The EFCC urged members of the public with useful information on his whereabouts to contact any of its offices nationwide or report through official communication channels.

Sylva, who previously served as Minister under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and governed Bayelsa State from 2007 to 2012, is facing renewed scrutiny over alleged diversion of public funds and abuse of office.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Sylva nor his representatives had issued an official response to the EFCC’s declaration.

The development marks a significant escalation in the Commission’s anti-corruption drive, particularly targeting former public officials accused of financial impropriety.
