The Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday arraigned nine suspects alleged to be the masterminds behind a series of deadly attacks in Benue and Plateau States.
The individuals, brought before a court in Abuja, are accused of coordinating violent assaults that left several communities in the North-Central region devastated in recent months.
In a parallel move, the DSS also filed charges against a suspected arms trafficker said to have been intercepted with seven M16 rifles, believed to have been destined for criminal networks operating in the area.
The arraignment marks one of the most significant prosecutions yet in the ongoing security crackdown on armed groups accused of fuelling violence across the Middle Belt.
