The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into Chris Okafor, the senior pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, following widespread allegations of sexual misconduct circulating on social media.

The directive was issued by Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh, who instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti to summon Okafor for questioning. The department has also been tasked with interviewing alleged victims and witnesses.

“The Commissioner has directed the SCID to investigate the pastor, despite the fact that no formal report has been lodged yet,” stated Lagos Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi. She added that witnesses are expected to provide statements to assist the inquiry.

The investigation follows escalating public outcry sparked by actress Doris Ogala, one of several women accusing the pastor of misconduct spanning nearly a decade. In a series of emotional Instagram videos posted on December 14, 2025, Ogala alleged that her relationship with Okafor began in 2017 and lasted nine years. She claimed the relationship involved broken promises of marriage, the sharing of explicit photos, and contributed to the collapse of her previous marriage.
