A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has issued a Form 48 (Notice of Consequences of Disobedience to Court Order) against Senator Samuel Anyanwu and INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, over alleged refusal to comply with a court judgment.
The notice relates to a judgment delivered on January 12, 2026 in Suit No. CV/1050/2025, where the court dismissed Anyanwu’s suit challenging his expulsion from the PDP, thereby upholding the party’s decision.
PDP leaders, led by Amb. Iliya Umar Damagum and other party stakeholders, insist the judgment remains binding and must be enforced, noting that a Notice of Appeal does not automatically stop the execution of the judgment.
The PDP has also written INEC, demanding that the commission withdraw recognition of Anyanwu as PDP National Secretary and remove his name from its official records.

The Form 48 warning is a preliminary step toward contempt proceedings, and both Anyanwu and the INEC Chairman risk possible imprisonment if they fail to comply.
