Governor Biodun Oyebanji has secured a historic second consecutive term after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him the winner of the governorship election in Ekiti State.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress polled 319,224 votes, comfortably defeating his closest challenger, Wole Oludeye of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 40,543 votes.
Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress finished third with 12,872 votes.
Oyebanji recorded a clean sweep across all 16 local government areas of the state, cementing his dominance at the polls and becoming the first governor in Ekiti’s history to win re-election for a second consecutive term.
