Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi State, has firmly denied speculation that he is planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that he remains within the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite acknowledging internal challenges.

Speaking amid growing political rumours, Mohammed described reports of his alleged defection as unfounded, stressing that while the PDP is grappling with issues, he has no immediate plans to leave the party.

“Politics is dynamic,” he said, hinting at possible future realignments. “We can be anywhere, but certainly, we won’t be stupid. We will be very strategic.”

His remarks come at a time of heightened political tension within the PDP, as internal divisions continue to stir uncertainty ahead of future elections. Mohammed’s statement underscores both his loyalty to the party for now and his openness to calculated political decisions as the landscape evolves.
