Stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi have called on the National Working Committee (NWC) to engage party members before taking any decision on the possible admission of Bala Mohammed, the state governor.

Their demand follows a recent development on 1 April, when Mohammed hosted Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC national chairman, alongside Abba Yusuf, the governor of Kano, at the Government House in Bauchi.

The meeting has intensified speculation that Mohammed may be preparing to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), fuelling unease among APC members in the state who insist that due consultation must precede any move to welcome him into the party.
