Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has praised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for its decision to appoint several young people to its National Working Committee (NWC), calling it a “powerful example” of youth inclusion.
In a post on X, Atiku congratulated the newly appointed youth members, including Bilyaminu Duhu (Assistant National Youth Leader, North East), Jackie Wayas (Deputy National Publicity Secretary), Hassana Dada (Assistant National Youth Leader, North Central), David Itokpa (Deputy National Welfare Secretary), and Hauwa Yusuf (Deputy National Secretary).
“The @ADCNig is no longer just speaking about youth inclusion; it is now boldly demonstrating it in action,” Atiku wrote. He emphasized the importance of involving young people in the decision-making process, stating, “The future of our youth must not be shaped in their absence.”
Atiku commended the ADC for its leadership, concluding that the party is “not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose.” The move by the ADC is seen as a significant step towards greater youth participation in Nigerian politics.
