The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially ratified Umar Damagum as its substantive National Chairman.
The decision was taken on Monday during the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, where members resolved to elevate Damagum, who had steered the party in an acting capacity for over a year, to the substantive position.
This confirmation comes ahead of the PDP’s highly anticipated National Elective Convention slated for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Following the NEC’s resolution, the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, formally administered the oath of office to Damagum.
