Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Senate President Iyorchia Ayu on Monday visited Ibadan to congratulate Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The political heavyweights, who were absent at last week’s coronation, were received by the monarch at his palace.
In a statement on X, Atiku described the Olubadan as a “longstanding associate” and expressed regret at missing the coronation due to protocol challenges. He noted that Oba Ladoja warmly recalled their years of shared service to the nation, adding that he was proud to see him ascend the throne of his forebears.
The delegation also included former PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu, former Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke, ex-Minister of Police Affairs Adamu Maina Waziri and Kashim Imam.
