Ex-IGP Adamu Enters 2027 Nasarawa Governorship Race

Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has officially announced his candidacy for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State. Adamu declared his intention to run under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing the State Working Committee of the APC in Lafia on Wednesday, Adamu stated his decision was a direct response to what he described as a “clarion call” from the people of Nasarawa State. He emphasized his leadership experience and capacity as key differentiators among the current field of aspirants.
Adamu pledged to run an inclusive, transparent, and people-oriented administration if elected. “I am answering the call of my people who believe I can serve and move Nasarawa forward,” he said. “My administration, by the grace of God, will be inclusive, transparent, and focused on delivering tangible development across all sectors.”
