An aide to former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to invite Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Igboho for questioning following his claims that certain politicians are sponsoring kidnappers operating in Oyo State.
The aide argued that Igboho’s allegations, which have sparked public debate and raised concerns over insecurity in the state, are serious enough to warrant a thorough investigation by security agencies.
According to him, if Igboho possesses credible information linking political figures to criminal activities, such intelligence should be presented to the appropriate authorities to aid ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping and violent crime.
The call comes amid heightened concerns over insecurity in parts of Oyo State, following the recent abduction of students and renewed demands for stronger action against criminal networks.
Authorities are yet to publicly respond to the request, while Igboho has not issued any further statement regarding the allegations.
