Army To Raise Standards In Soldier Training – COAS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has declared a renewed commitment to raising the standard of soldier training across the Nigerian Army.

During his first operational visit to Depot Nigerian Army in Osogbo, Osun State, on Monday, General Oluyede emphasised the importance of quality training and professionalism in shaping soldiers that Nigerians can trust and be proud of.

Speaking to instructors and officers at the Depot, the COAS urged them to align with his vision of enhancing the Army’s capabilities.

In a statement on Monday,Acting Director Army Public Relations,Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele called for passionate and deliberate efforts in capacity development.

“Train these recruits as though the security of the country depends on them—because it does,” he reportedly said, according to a statement by Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele.

General Oluyede also toured various training facilities within the Depot. He inspected infrastructure and equipment, assessing areas needing urgent improvement.

The visit, his first since assuming office, signals a broader reform agenda aimed at improving the operational readiness and overall performance of the Nigerian Army.
