The All Progressives Congress has released a fresh timetable for the Ekiti 2026 governorship election, setting the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms at a combined ₦50 million.

Under the revised schedule, the party is offering full exemption from nomination fees to female aspirants and persons with disabilities, while youths aged between 25 and 40 will receive a 50 percent discount.

APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, confirmed the new guidelines in a statement issued on Tuesday. According to him, the party will formally notify its Ekiti chapter on Friday, 26 July 2025, while the sale of forms begins on Monday, 26 August.

Party membership registration updates will run from 29 July to 9 August, giving aspirants time to validate eligibility. The deadline for submitting completed forms, along with all supporting documents, is Thursday, 11 September.

“Screening of all aspirants has been scheduled for Tuesday, 23 September. The screening results will be published the next day, with any appeals to be filed on 25 September,” the statement said.

The delegate congress is set for Saturday, 27 September, while appeals from that process will be heard on Monday, 29 September. The main primary election is fixed for Wednesday, 1 October 2025. Any appeals from the primaries will be concluded by Thursday, 2 October.

Breaking down the costs, the party noted that the nomination form alone will cost ₦40 million, with the expression of interest form pegged at ₦10 million. Female and physically challenged aspirants will only be required to purchase the expression of interest form, while eligible youths will pay half the nomination fee.

Forms will be available at the Directorate of Organisation at APC’s National Headquarters in Abuja. Each delegate form costs ₦5,000.

To be eligible to contest, aspirants must be financial members of the APC for at least three months prior to the release of the timetable.

“Interested members should reach out to the Directorate of Organisation or use the contact numbers provided in the circular,” the party advised.
