The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it remains open to welcoming the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, amid growing political realignments ahead of future elections.

Speaking on the matter, the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said the ruling party had not shut its doors to Kwankwaso, stressing that the APC remains a broad-based platform ready to accommodate political actors who share its vision for national development.

“Our doors are still open for Kwankwaso to join the APC,” Yilwatda said, adding that the party believes in inclusive politics and constructive engagement rather than exclusion.

He noted that the APC continues to strengthen its internal structures and expand its reach across the country, positioning itself as a party capable of uniting diverse political interests for effective governance.

Yilwatda’s remarks come amid persistent speculation over possible defections by prominent opposition figures, fuelled by shifting alliances and consultations across the political landscape.

While Kwankwaso has not publicly indicated any intention to leave the NNPP, the APC chairman’s comments underscore the ruling party’s confidence and its willingness to engage influential political leaders as it consolidates its position nationally.
