Nigeria’s ruling party has criticised two prominent opposition figures, describing their political moves as lacking substance and driven by opportunism.
A spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) labelled Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as “unserious,” accusing them of seeking relevance through what he described as a “free political platform”.
The remarks come amid shifting alignments within Nigeria’s opposition landscape, where talks of coalitions and strategic partnerships have intensified ahead of future elections.
While neither Obi nor Kwankwaso has formally responded to the comments, political analysts say such rhetoric reflects deepening rivalries as parties and key figures position themselves for influence in an increasingly competitive field.
The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between the ruling party and opposition leaders, underscoring the stakes in Nigeria’s evolving political dynamics.
