A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) figure and close ally of former Governor Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has stirred political speculation by suggesting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not contest the 2027 presidential election, citing potential revelations from alleged FBI documents. Eze also positioned Amaechi as a strong contender to challenge Tinubu.

Chief Eze stated that the 2027 election is poised to deliver significant surprises, particularly if the United States releases documents purportedly related to President Tinubu. He emphasized that Nigerians are increasingly seeking clarity on Amaechi’s political intentions, specifically his potential presidential candidacy.
“Nigerians are reaching out to know the interest of Amaechi because the current administration is not addressing the country’s pressing issues,” Eze said in a statement. He criticized the current government’s focus on retaining power, rather than tackling the nation’s economic woes, insecurity, and escalating violence.
“The wobbling economy, hunger, starvation, insecurity, and violent killings should concern any responsible government. But despite these challenges, the presidency is plotting to retain power by all means. That is not democracy,” Eze asserted.
He highlighted Amaechi’s public service record, positioning him as an “ideal presidential material” capable of rescuing Nigeria from its current “precarious state.”
“2027 will be full of surprises. Tinubu may not be in a position to even stand the election he plans to manipulate if the USA lives up to its billing and releases the alleged file on Mr. President,” Eze claimed. “Ordinarily, the failure of his government, which is evident to all, should deter the president from seeking reelection.”
Eze indicated that Amaechi will soon address the growing public interest regarding his political ambitions.
