The race for Anambra’s governorship is heating up as top contenders ditch glitzy rallies for gritty door-to-door campaigns ahead of the 8 November 2025 poll. Incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo (APGA) faces a fiery challenge from heavyweights like Nicholas Ukachukwu (APC), John Nwosu (ADC), George Moghalu (LP), Paul Chukwuma (YPP), and Jeff Nweke (AA).

Instead of pomp, candidates are pounding pavements, wooing voters ward by ward. Soludo, banking on his infrastructure wins, pushes a zoning deal to keep power rotating fairly across Anambra’s zones. “Four more years for me ensures Central gets its turn,” he declared at a recent endorsement bash.

Ukachukwu’s APC is all-in on grassroots, rallying 326 ward coordinators to secure votes. “Win your polling units, and we win the state!” he roared. Nwosu’s ADC, backed by a tight-knit coalition, is pitching competence over flash, while Moghalu’s LP leans on Peter Obi’s clout for a vote boost. Chukwuma (YPP) vows to plug Anambra into national politics, and Nweke (AA) promises a “rebirth” with a bold blueprint.

Voters, however, are grumbling about the lack of manifesto meat. “Where’s the vision?” asked PDP’s Obi Okoli. With campaigns staying low-key for now, expect sparks to fly as the election nears!
