The African Democratic Congress (ADC) South-South Zone has dismissed as false and misleading reports suggesting that the Delta State chapter of the party, led by Engr. Austine Okolie, has been removed from office.
In a statement issued in Asaba on Tuesday, the Zonal Youth Leader of ADC, Hon. Bright Honda, PhD, described the claim as “baseless” and a deliberate attempt by a few individuals to destabilise the party in Delta State.
“The rumours being peddled by Mr. Barbar and Mr. Fortune in Warri are nothing more than calculated attempts to destabilise ADC in Delta State,” Honda stated.
He further emphasised that the party leadership in Delta State remains intact, with no vote of no confidence passed against it.
“Let it be clear: no vote of no confidence has been passed by the ADC in Delta State. The Executive Committee, under Engr. Okolie, remains fully constituted, recognised, and is effectively leading the party. We urge the public and all party faithful to disregard these fictitious claims totally,” Honda said.
Reassuring members and stakeholders, Honda noted that the party remains committed to unity and focus in carrying out its mandate.
“The ADC in Delta State is united, focused, and we will not be distracted by the antics of a few individuals,” he added.
