Ahead of the forthcoming primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Former minister of environment, Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, has urged ADC members to prepare for primary should in case consensus failed.
He stated this during his endorsement program by ADC stakeholders in Nasarawa North Senatorial district led by former commissioner for youth and sports development, Amb. Isaac Lucky Yargwa.
Hon. Yargwa said The stakeholders of Nasarawa North Senatorial District, decided to pay this Sallah homage to Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi with a deep sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to the unity, fairness, and continued progress of Nasarawa state.
“This solemn visit is not only a mark of respect for the season but also a deliberate expression of our collective appreciation for your steadfast leadership, inclusive political ideals, and consistent advocacy for equity across all zones of the state”.
He reiterated that the role of Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi in fostering dialogue, strengthening democratic values, and promoting peaceful coexistence remains a source of inspiration to and generations to come and therefore used the occasion to reaffirm their loyalty, solidarity, and support for his vision of a more united and prosperous Nasarawa State.
“As stakeholders, we recognize the importance of justice, inclusiveness, and balanced representation in sustaining peace and development”.
“This Sallah homage serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to work together beyond political differences, consolidate on our gains, and build a future anchored on fairness, mutual respect, and collective progress for all citizens of the state”
According to the group, Since the return of democratic governance in 1999, the people of Nasarawa State have embraced zoning as a guiding principle in political leadership.
This arrangement has helped promote inclusion, reduce tension, and strengthen unity among the different parts of the state. “As the 2027 general elections approach, zoning remains an important factor in ensuring fairness among the three senatorial districts—Nasarawa West, Nasarawa South, and Nasarawa North.
It is a system that gives every zone a sense of belonging and an opportunity to contribute to leadership at the highest level, “We, the stakeholders of Nasarawa North Senatorial District under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), hereby adopt and endorse Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, CON, as our consensus candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election”. Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, on his part, appreciated them for the Sallah homage and subsequent endorsement and promised to ensure inclusive leadership if elected as Governor of Nasarawa state under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He urged supporters of the party to prepare for primary election not to over depend on consensus which may likely fail due to disagreement by some aspirants.
