The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of denying the party’s polling agents accreditation tags ahead of the election.
In a statement, the candidate alleged that ADC agents had submitted all the required details through INEC’s official accreditation portal but were yet to receive their tags.
The candidate described the development as a serious concern, calling on the electoral commission to urgently address the issue and ensure that all duly nominated ADC agents are properly accredited to carry out their duties.
According to the candidate, the party had complied with the stipulated requirements and provided the necessary information within the timeframe set by the commission.
The allegation comes amid heightened attention on the accreditation of party agents and preparations for the governorship election.
The ADC candidate urged INEC to investigate the matter and provide clarification, stressing that the credibility of the electoral process depends on transparency and equal treatment of all participating political parties.
INEC has yet to publicly respond to the allegation.
