Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate Ozo Jeff Nweke has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, and urged defeated contestants to support the incoming administration rather than pursue litigation. “Our people have spoken,” he told journalists at a press briefing in Awka.

Nweke described the poll as “keenly contested and one of the most efficient and freest in the history of Anambra,” and welcomed the high voter turnout observed across the state. He praised the conduct of voters and commended the general smoothness of the election exercise, while acknowledging isolated incidents that should be handled by the proper authorities.

“We must not allow post-election grievance to derail governance,” Nweke said, adding that losers often feel aggrieved “even when they don’t have a genuine case.” He urged other contestants to accept the verdict and channel their energies into constructive engagement with the new administration.

Addressing security and socio-economic priorities, Nweke advised Governor Soludo to run an inclusive government and to prioritise policies that tackle hunger and unemployment. “If I were governor, I would gear towards unemployment, which is at the heart of insecurity and crime,” he said, underscoring the link between youth employment and public safety.

Nweke referred to a violent incident in Orumba South — the killing of a local councillor — as an isolated tragedy that the relevant government agencies should investigate and resolve. He stressed that such incidents should not be allowed to overshadow the overall peaceful conduct of the election.
