Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central, has threatened anyone who attempts to rig the 2027 general election.
Speaking at a campaign event, Omo-Agege accused those who manipulate election results of putting the future of Nigerians and their children at risk.
“I want to make news again: Anybody who rigs an election that day, we will kill him. Rig and die. If you don’t value your life, come and rig an election,” he said.
“They are rigging your future, they are rigging the future of your children. We are waiting for them. Let them try. Rig and die. We are going to do it eye for an eye. We are just looking at them.”
He also criticized the advice often given to candidates who dispute election results: to seek redress in court. He said electoral fraud threatened voters’ interests and warned those involved in the process not to undermine the electorate’s choice.
