Nafiu Kangiwa says reports of his withdrawal from the 2027 House of Representatives election are false and baseless.
A candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Nafiu Bello Shuwa Kangiwa, has denied reports that he has withdrawn from the 2027 general election.
Kangiwa, in a statement issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi, said he had neither withdrawn from the contest nor issued any statement announcing his decision to quit the race.
He said he personally obtained the ADC nomination form and had complied with the requirements and conditions set by the party, as well as relevant electoral procedures.
The candidate described reports of his alleged withdrawal as “completely false, baseless and without any foundation”.
He urged those circulating the reports to stop what he described as misinformation capable of misleading the public and creating confusion among his supporters and political stakeholders.
Kangiwa said political contests should be driven by ideas, vision and public confidence rather than misinformation or attempts to damage the reputation of political opponents.
He reaffirmed his commitment to contesting the Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency seat on the ADC platform in the 2027 general elections.
The candidate also urged his supporters, constituents and the wider public to disregard any report suggesting that he had stepped down from the race.
He assured supporters that his political aspiration remained intact and that he would continue to abide by the guidelines of the ADC and applicable electoral regulations ahead of the election.
