The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has delivered a strong and uncomfortable message on the state of the country, urging Nigerians and political leaders to confront the realities facing millions of citizens.
In their latest intervention, the bishops highlighted concerns over insecurity, economic hardship, poverty and the growing difficulties faced by ordinary Nigerians.
The bishops’ position comes amid continuing public debate over the government’s economic reforms and their impact on households and businesses across the country.
While acknowledging the need for reforms to address longstanding economic challenges, the bishops stressed that policies must ultimately improve the welfare and dignity of citizens.
