Senate leaders met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday. They talked through some national issues. The point was to shore up governance and get the executive and legislature working together more closely.
Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele broke the news in a post on his official X account that same day.
He said Senate President Godswill Akpabio led the group. The rest of the delegation included Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, and Senator Osita Bonaventure Izunaso, who represents Imo West.
The senators made an official visit to President Tinubu, who also serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Bamidele said they focused on areas where the executive and legislature need to cooperate more if good governance is going to move forward.
He wrote, “Our meeting centered on matters of urgent public importance to further strengthen good governance through legislative intervention and collaborative efforts between the executive and the legislature.”
