An Enugu Air aircraft veered off the runway after landing at Benin Airport on Thursday, the airline said, confirming that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated with no injuries.
In a statement posted to its official X account, the Enugu State–owned carrier described the incident as a runway excursion involving one of its newly introduced Embraer regional jets. The airline said the aircraft has been secured and relevant aviation authorities notified, and that an assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances is underway.
Enugu Air warned the occurrence may lead to temporary adjustments to some flight schedules; affected passengers will be contacted directly and offered assistance. Videos circulating on social media showing the aircraft off the runway prompted initial reports that it had crash-landed, but the airline reiterated there were no casualties.
The cause of the runway excursion has not yet been determined, and aviation authorities are expected to investigate.
