An old voice recording featuring late singer Mohbad and Naira Marley’s manager, Gabby, has resurfaced amid ongoing discussions about the late artist’s finances and exit from his former record label. The voice note sheds light on Mohbad’s financial dealings with Naira Marley and his efforts to save money despite payment disputes.

In the audio, Mohbad acknowledges that he was saving funds with Naira Marley to buy a car and a house. However, he clarified that he personally gave Naira Marley N10 million, with the label adding another N10 million, yet he intentionally withheld some show money payments to help repay that amount.

When questioned about payments into his mother’s and Wunmi’s accounts, Mohbad stated only N100,000 was sent to his mother’s account but remained silent on the details concerning Wunmi’s account. He expressed readiness to refund any wrongly received funds while demanding payment of money owed to him.

Mohbad revealed claims that he was owed N130 million by the label, noting several shows where he was not paid. He differentiated show earnings from streaming revenue, stating that although Naira Marley presented him with records, he never actually received the money only paperwork.

Gabby assured Mohbad that he would investigate the issues and work toward resolving them.
