In a dramatic turn of events at Ozolua Model Primary School in Iguobazuwa East Ward, Ovia South-West LGA, Edo State, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent faced the wrath of voters on Saturday for allegedly withholding Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) during a heated by-election.
The agent, whose identity remains undisclosed, was accused of hoarding PVCs entrusted to him by voters. One voter, Robert, revealed the source of the outrage: “The PDP agent collected our voter cards after mobilizing us for registration. But when it was time to vote, he refused to release them, likely because many of us support the APC candidate, Omosede Igbinedion.”
Angry voters confronted the agent, sparking a volatile situation that nearly turned violent. Swift police intervention prevented a lynching, restoring order at the polling station.
This incident underscores the high stakes and tensions surrounding the Edo by-election, as voters demand their right to choose.
