ABC Transport Plc has reported a profit after tax of ₦465.5 million for the first half of 2025, marking a strong turnaround from the ₦191.5 million loss posted in the same period last year.
The transport and logistics company disclosed the figures in its half-year financial statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), showing robust growth across key performance indicators.
According to the report, revenue rose sharply to ₦7.7 billion for the six months ended 30 June 2025, representing a 52 per cent increase from ₦5.1 billion in the corresponding period of 2024. Gross profit also surged by 55 per cent to ₦1.8 billion.
Administrative expenses remained relatively stable at ₦1.2 billion, while finance costs fell by 18 per cent to ₦205.3 million. Profit before tax reached ₦734.4 million, a significant improvement from the ₦56.2 million loss recorded in H1 2024.
The group’s total comprehensive income stood at ₦357 million, compared with a ₦335.4 million loss in the same period last year. Basic earnings per share improved to 9.38 kobo, reversing a loss per share of eight kobo in 2024.
Commenting on the results, the company said the performance reflected “a strategic focus on operational efficiency, route optimisation, and expansion of service offerings.”
ABC Transport’s total assets more than doubled to ₦14.3 billion, driven by increased investment in property, plant, and equipment. Borrowings also rose as part of the company’s operational expansion during the period.
Industry analysts note that the improved numbers could signal renewed investor confidence in Nigeria’s transport sector, which has faced challenges ranging from high fuel costs to infrastructure deficits.
The company, founded in 1993, operates a fleet of luxury and shuttle buses across major cities in Nigeria and West Africa, alongside logistics and haulage services.
