Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council. The decision was formally communicated on Monday through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro.
The statement instructed all affected commissioners and special advisers to transfer their responsibilities to the permanent secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies. Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the outgoing officials for their service and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours.
Certain key positions remain unaffected by the dissolution, including the Commissioners for Attorney General, Health, Education, Works, Agriculture, and Trade. Additionally, the Special Advisers on Special Education and Social Inclusion, as well as Lands, Survey, and e-GIS, will continue in their roles.
The statement also clarified that all Directors-General who are members of the State Executive Council, including the Director-General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, the Director-General of SDGs and Project Monitoring, and the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), will retain their positions.
This restructuring is part of Governor Oyebanji’s ongoing efforts to enhance governance and service delivery in Ekiti State. Further updates regarding the appointment of new council members are expected in due course.
