Public Procurement to go digital, partners EFCC,ICPC others

Bureau of Public Procurement have under the new leadership of Dr, Adebowale A.Adedokun, the Director General reeled out more pragmatic measures that would lead to enhanced productivity through digital operations for transparency and accountability.

The agency also entered into partnership of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, Code of Conduct Bureau to curb out shady deals and cutting corners especially on government contracts

Briefing journalists in the State House Auditorium in the presidential Villa Abuja on Monday, the DG,Dr Adedokun reiterated his commitment towards an improved and result oriented BPP operations ,saying achieving his mission, the public procurement by next year 2025 will zone it offices across the six geopolitical zones in the country.

According to him,there is the need to transforming the operations of the BPP i as catalyst for economic prosperity of the country.

” Let me with all sense of responsibility state here that we need operate a strategic procurement,reflect our unwavering commitments in transforming and redefining the system intoa catalyst for national development and economic prosperity.

“I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for granting me the rear privilege of heading the Bureau of Public Procurement at this critical juncture of this administration .Let me assured Mr President and all Nigerians that I and my colleagues will dedicate ourselves to this role by relaying on honesty, hard work,consultations,professionalism to tackling the task ahead” He asserted.

The Director General also expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of the National Assembly for their support and cooperation he so far received since assumption of office as Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement

He pointed out that partnering with other anti graft agencies as the EFCC,ICPC ,CCB and the NEITI ,will not only strengthens the sheer objectives,but also underscored vital roles for strategic collaboration in advancing national development.

In their good will messages,EFCC chairman Olanipekun Olukayede represented,Chairman of ICPC,Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu,Chairman CCB ,Dr Abdullahi Usman Bello and the Executive Secretary NEITI respectively and in their direct submissions hail the visionary initiatives of the DG Bureau of Public Procurement with a view to give him their maximum collaboration for effective applications of the public procurement act that will strengthen the nations development through due process.

Observers Times report that the press briefing was the first ever as inaugurated by the new DG where sister’s agencies came together to institute a working synergy for the prosperity of the country
