Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has spoken publicly for the first time since recent online controversy involving his wife, Natasha Osawaru, and an Edo State lawmaker. In a brief Instagram Story update on Wednesday, the singer wrote two simple words: “Help me.”
The post comes hours after 2face’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, expressed concern on Instagram, pairing his message with lyrics from one of the singer’s songs. Hyacinth wrote: “You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant. Lyrics meant to inspire, but somehow it’s unfolding in real time… Painful reality. Allow us save you. You’ve been suffering for too long. God knows.”
The developments follow several weeks of public drama between 2face and Osawaru. Reports say the dispute began in the United Kingdom, where a heated exchange allegedly led to police intervention and the singer’s brief arrest. The matter resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze in which both parties were seen arguing on camera, fueling speculation about the state of their marriage and prompting concern from fans.
Separately, the Edo State House of Assembly has reportedly summoned Osawaru to appear before its ethics committee. As of filing, neither 2face nor Natasha Osawaru has issued a detailed public statement addressing the allegations or the singer’s recent social-media post.
