The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, has declared that northern Nigeria will deliver more votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election than the entire South-West region.
Yari made the declaration on Thursday during an APC presidential campaign rally in Ekiti State, where he urged residents to support Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
The former Zamfara State governor expressed confidence in the North’s electoral strength, insisting that the region would play a decisive role in securing Tinubu’s re-election.
His remarks come amid growing political manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with political parties and their supporters intensifying efforts to consolidate regional support.
Yari’s comments are also likely to attract reactions, particularly given the political significance of the South-West, Tinubu’s home region, and the North’s considerable voting strength in previous presidential elections.
The APC has yet to formally begin its nationwide campaign for the 2027 elections, but prominent party figures have continued to make public appeals for support as political activities gather momentum.
