2027 Guber: I Have Responded to Calls to Continue Development of Current Administration – Prof Haruna

Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna, the former boss of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), has confirmed his intention to run for the governorship position of Nasarawa State in 2027, God willing.

During a press conference at his Keffi residence over the weekend, Professor Haruna stated that he has decided to join the race to continue with the developmental programs of the current administration in the state. He emphasized that his purpose for joining the race is to ensure stability, peace, unity, welfare of the people, and progress of the state.

The immediate past NASENI Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer will be contesting the 2027 election under the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule’s industrialization vision and promised to forge ahead with infrastructural and industrialization initiatives for the direct benefit of Nasarawa State citizens.

According to Professor Haruna, “God has blessed the state with abundant human and material resources, which are yet to be tapped. This is why I have indicated my interest, not because I want to be counted among those who have governed the state, but to sustain and add value to the existing development in the state.”

As an academician, industrialist, and politician with a track record of participating in student union politics during his schooling days, Professor Haruna believes that taking this decision is not new to him. He stressed that influencing policy and programs is crucial to broker harmonious relationships and build infrastructure that benefits the state and its citizens.

Professor Haruna holds a PhD and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Bayero University Kano ¹ ² ³. He was the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI from 2012 to 2023 ¹ ⁴.
